We are committed to fostering a
safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants engaging in our
online courses, including discussion forums, online seminars, and in-person
seminars. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behaviour expected
from all participants to ensure a positive and productive learning experience.
Participants are expected to:
- Treat all course community members—including peers,
instructors, speakers, and staff—with respect and courtesy.
- Engage in discussions and activities in a
constructive and inclusive manner, fostering a welcoming and supportive
environment.
- Adhere to the specific guidelines set for
discussion forums, online seminars, and in-person events, including
appropriate use of language and materials.
1. Abusive, Discriminatory,
and Threatening ConductEngaging in abusive, threatening,
insulting, or aggressive language or behaviour is strictly prohibited,
including (but not limited to) such conduct in relation to a person’s or a
group’s:
- Religious beliefs
- Race or ethnicity
- Physical appearance
- Disability
- Sexual orientation
- Age
- Gender, gender identity, or gender expression
Such behaviour, whether directed
at individuals or groups, undermines the inclusive and respectful environment we
are committed to maintaining.
2. Inappropriate Content
Sharing, displaying, or
distributing offensive, threatening, defamatory, malicious, obscene, sexually
explicit or illegal materials, images, or content in any form is prohibited.
This includes:
- On discussion forums or social media platforms
associated with the course
- During online or in-person seminars
- Within the venue of any in-person events
Content of this nature has no
place in the course environment and will be met with immediate action.
3. Harassment and Aggressive Behaviour
Stalking, intimidation, or aggressive conduct
directed towards:

Course participants
- Speakers
- Course facilitators and staff
- Unwelcome sexual attention, comments, or physical
contact.
4. Misuse of Media and
Photography
- Taking or sharing photographs of an inappropriate
or invasive nature during in-person or virtual events.
- Violating the intellectual property, privacy or
publicity rights of another person or the RTS Academy.
- Failing to ensure that uploaded files are
virus-free before upload.
5. Substance Misuse- Misuse of alcohol or recreational drugs during
in-person seminars or events.
Enforcement of the Code of
Conduct
Failure to adhere to this Code of
Conduct may result in consequences, including but not limited to:
- Immediate removal from the course's discussion
forums, seminars, or events.
- Revocation of access to the online course and any
related materials in accordance with the end-user licence agreement.
- Reporting the behaviour to appropriate authorities,
if necessary.
Decisions regarding enforcement
will be made by us at our sole discretion.
Participants are encouraged to
report any violations of this Code of Conduct to the designated course
moderator or course staff via
academy@rts.org.uk.
All reports will be handled confidentially and investigated promptly.
