Tips to make the most of your online learning experience
-
As
you will likely be taking this course alongside a demanding schedule, it
is good practice to block out study time in your diary now. Each module,
taking 2-3 hours to complete, will be released weekly on a Wednesday.
Therefore, we would recommend aiming to complete each module in time for
the release of the next, or else you’ll be forced to binge-watch!
-
Treat
your study space like a cinema and turn off all phones and distractions.
- Allocate
additional time for independent study and extra reading via the Director’s
Cut, and the final optional assessment if you are planning to take it.
- Schedule
regular breaks throughout.
- Watch
the video interviews mindfully; focus while watching and take notes.
- Familiarise
yourself with the platform and know where everything is: the Director’s
Cut, your dashboard and profile, course materials, community spaces; keep
a folder in your browser with URLs to key resources. You can come back to
the user guide and navigation graphics for assistance at any time.
- Make
the most of the social learning opportunities – respond to discussions, ask questions, reach out to fellow students and use the allocated
community spaces to connect.
-
As
the course will include charts, view the course in full screen to be able
to see all the details.
- Remember,
you can watch the videos at 1.25x or 1.5x speed if helpful to your
progress.
- You can toggle on subtitles for videos if needed by clicking 'CC' on the bottom right hand side of the course player
- If
and when you need it, seek advice from your fellow students, the RTS and
your colleagues also taking the course, or use the learning resources provided. If you have any access needs, please let us know and we'll do our very best to support you.
